After yesterdays events today (15th March) was somewhat more sub-dued in comparison! In the morning whilst Phyre stalked and chased francolins the rest of the females rested in theĀ Amboseli area. Athena and Kenge had returned to their dens whilst Milo guarded the few remains of the previous days’ zebra kill.
We managed to track down Kenge in a small isolated thicket of the Serengeti East area. Unlike previous den sightings she sent us a clear warning we were not welcome with teeth bared and ears flattened. We recorded our GPS coordinates and quickly left her in peace with poor visual of the cubs; but enough to see that they are both doing well.
On our way back to camp at the end of the day Milo sang us out with a lovely tune and was joined by Phyre, Ashanti, Nala and Narnia with a roaring chorus.
